RE:   Interim Policy on Book Orders

 

In order to formalize what has been the UA's standard operating procedure on book orders for University courses, I am establishing the following interim policy which ensures that our students will have ready access to all required course texts. Please call this policy to the attention of your faculty, including adjunct faculty.

 

Each instructor-of-record for a University of Arizona course must provide in a timely fashion the list of all books required for the course to the UA Associated Students Bookstore. The UA Associated Students Bookstore will attempt to make every assigned text available for every course.

 

By copy of this memorandum, I am asking the Committee on UHAP Revision to initiate the process for the implementation of this policy, with any appropriate revisions, as a permanent element of the University Handbook for Appointed Personnel.
